Nestling between the trees and the sea in the Vendicari Nature Reserve, just a few kilometers from the historical town of Noto, the capital of Baroque, the Zahir Country House is a Maison de Charme. It is a magical place, for those who are looking for a holiday immersed in nature, in the quiet and uncontaminated countryside, a holiday of peace and relaxation, with healthy food, wellbeing, but also those who want an authentic Sicilian experience and have an eye for detail. 

The Zahir Country House is furnished with antiques, which are harmoniously combined with works of art and unique design pieces, some of which can be purchased at the Disìu Boutique. The Sicilian countryside, rich in olive, almond, citrus and carob trees, that surrounds the structure seems almost to guard the tranquility that characterizes the Resort. Guests have plenty of green spaces in which to relax, read a book, listen to music, admire the many works of art and installations in the resort and pamper themselves in our Carizzi open-air wellness centre, which offers a unique sensory experience amidst the intoxicating scent of orange blossoms and the beauty of the centuries-old olive trees of the Sicilian countryside.

Zahir Country House: a mix of solidarity and environmental, social and cultural sustainability.

At the Zahir Country House, the sustainable and conscious approach towards nature and the land around it also means collaborating with the AVASIM Consortium, which, with its M’AMA.SEEDS project, is responsible for promoting and bringing value to ancient Italian seeds, from ancient grains to relic vines, from aromatic herbs to oilseeds and ancient varieties of medicinal herbs.

In addition to having created the Garden of Ancient Seeds, in its kitchens the Zahir Country House uses flours from indigenous grains and buys M’AMA SEEDS branded products, to support custodian farmers and heroic enterprises who are contributing to the reintroduction of agricultural biodiversity in order to protect the health of both Man and Nature.

The Park of the Soul, an open-air museum of ancient seeds in conversation with works of contemporary art, is currently in the process of completion. Hotel guests can enjoy this museum either by reaching the beach of Eloro on foot or by Golf Car.

THE BEACHES

The nearest beach, Eloro, is about 1,500 meters from the hotel. It is a beach of fine golden sand inside the Vendicari Nature Reserve that can be reached via a private road with a 20-minute walk among the citrus groves and Mediterranean scrub, or in a few minutes with the Zahir Country House Golf Car.

In less than 10-15 minutes guests can reach all the beaches of the Vendicari Nature Reserve by car. Those who prefer equipped lidos can opt for the more touristy Marina di Noto, which is just 2 km from the Resort. Alternatively, in 15-20 minutes by car you can reach the beaches of San Lorenzo, Marzamemi, Carratois, Porto Palo di Capo Passero, and Isola delle Correnti.

THE SURROUNDINGS

Just 5 km from the resort is Noto, the pearl of Sicilian Baroque. Also in the vicinity of the Zahir Country House is the Villa Romana del Tellaro, with its magnificent polychrome mosaics.

In only 30-40 minutes by car guests can visit a number of quaint historic towns, and get a taste of Sicily’s rich history: Marzamemi, Syracuse, Ortigia, Ragusa, Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Scicli, Palazzolo Acreide, Cava Grande del Cassibile, Pantalica, etc..

Guests have plenty of green spaces in which to relax, read a book, listen to music, admire the many works of art and installations in the resort and in the Park of the Soul, which is currently being completed.

At our hotel, guests have access to free parking and free Wi Fi, as well as the use of a beautiful swimming pool, with a salt purification system, back hydromassage facilities and two multi-jet whirlpool sunbeds, as well as a solarium, with sunbeds. Pool towels are available free of charge.

The swimming pool is unsupervised, and does not have a lifeguard service, so children under 16 must accompanied at all times. The maximum depth is 1.5 meters and no diving is allowed. 

The Zahir Country House offers a Concierge service willing to help with anything you need in order to make your stay in Sicily an authentic, unique and unforgettable experience. We can help our guests organize nature excursions, cultural visits and food and wine tours to local farms and vineyards. Our wheat and contemporary art tours are unique: we can offer organised trips to flour mills and pasta factories which use ancient Sicilian grains, art galleries, artists’ ateliers and tastings of ancient fruit varieties at local farmers’ nurseries.

Another of our unique experiences is the Sicilian cooking class, which is available on request and organised by the Zahir Country House staff.

Aesthetics, massages and beauty treatments all take place in our open-air SPA Lounge, surrounded by the aromatic plants of our Garden for the Mind.
